1.) Explain how the clip has used sound to create meaning. - The clip has used non diegetic sound to create meaning in the clip. The extract from Game of Thrones shows a large and powerful army take down a large ice wall in order to progress past it. The music on that is over the top of the scene creates a sense of tension for the audience as it slowly builds up and intensifies the scene. The ambient sounds in the clip are of the army marching through the snow and ice to progress past the first line of defence. There is also a fictional dragon used by the army which makes roaring and screeching noises in the background of the clip. The diegetic sound in the clip creates a sense of urgency and panic as the characters stood on top of the ice wall are about to be attacked so they scream for help and to let others know what is happening. 2.) Bullet Boy: How are people and places represented in the film Bullet Boy? - In the film 'Bullet Boy', youth are represented as criminals and are supposedly all involved in gang violence and gun crime. Mostly all of the male teenagers in the film are involved in the violence and the film follows the story of how youths get wrapped up in crime and take the wrong path in life. The film is based around black people and therefore creates a negative stereotype around their ethnicity as mostly all of the characters are criminals apart from two parents. The film is set in inner city London which is portrayed to be run down and rough. This makes us as the audience in some ways sympathetic for the teenage criminals as they have no other legal way of making money or solving their problems.
